| The overall objective  of the project is to reach under-privileged children and youth from most  marginalized communities living in slums/JJ clusters in and around Delhi city  and enable them to join mainstream of development and leading them to a healthy  dignified living.  Specific objectives of the proposed actions are as follows:
 
           To bring non-school going and school drop-out  children (boys and girls aged 5-14) under education network through Non-Formal  education.To provide nutrition supplementation to  children (5 to 10 years of age)To provide remedial education to girls  studying from 8th to 12th class in some formal school and  provide monthly financial support in the form of scholarships to ensure  continuity in studies.To impart training in marketable skills for  employability such as computer literacy and graphic design, beauty culture,  garment-making (cutting, stitching, embroidery, knitting), training in  paramedical skills (such as pathological laboratory assistance, OT assistant,  X-ray technician), secretarial practices and front desk management.To facilitate girls and sponsor their training  in nursing physiotherapy etc.To organise women (mothers, elder siblings of  adolescent boys and girls) from self help groups and extend facilitative  support to initiate profitable income generation activities such as grinding  spices, preparing various types of snacks, pickles etc. and make these self  help groups economically viable.To provide primary health care services  focusing on women and children around the year and also extend financial  support for critical medical care of children. |
